Residential Parking Zones Numbers Will Change

 
After a series of community meetings and an overwhelming response to our on-line survey, residential parking zones have been consolidated.  As a direct result of your comments, we have changed our current 62 zones into 6 residential parking zones.  Thank you to all the individuals that submitted comments and suggestions to our office.

This does mean that the residential permit number on your sticker application may be incorrect.  In order to check your new number, below is a list of the updated zone numbers or download a map of 1st Ward Residential Park Zones.

* 154- Division to Wabansia, Damen to Noble
* 346- Schubert to Wellington, California to Hoyne
* 102- Division to Altgeld, California to Oakley
* 759- Chicago to Division, California to Western
* 204- Augusta to Division, Paulina to Milwaukee
* 168- Ontario to Division, Western to Paulina

(Also included in 168 are the 800 block of North Marshfield, 1500 block of West Fry, and 1600 block of West Ontario)

The updated residential parking zones went into effect July 1, 2007 and only affects streets that are currently zoned for residential parking.

Chicago City Stickers, Residential Zone Stickers and Guest Passes are all sold at the City Clerk’s Office or Clerk Satellite Facilities. The 1st Ward Office does provide some extra services for guest pass purchases, however, it is best to call our office prior to your trip to ensure your respective guest pass zone is in stock or if you have any questions at (773) 278-0101.

If you live in the City of Chicago for more than 30 days, you are required to have a Chicago City Sticker.  We do not sell City Stickers at our office.

You may purchase City Stickers at the following locations:

• Return the renewal application via mail
• City Clerk’s Office
• On-line
• City Clerk Satellite Office
• Currency Exchanges*

*Please be aware that there may be a convenience fee associated with purchasing stickers at a currency exchange location.  Currency exchanges can only process orders for vehicles with in-state license plates.  If you have out-of-state plates, visit the City Clerk’s office to purchase your sticker.

City Sticker Facts

• The annual cost for a passenger vehicle is $75.00 however they are prorated.
  • June 1 - November 30:  $75.00
  • December 1 - March 31: $50.00
  • April 1 - May 31:  $25.00
• If you have a larger truck, van, or SUV you may need to purchase an additional large passenger sticker.   Make sure to check the Chicago City Clerk for information and to see if your vehicle qualifies. 
• If you are age 65 or older, you are eligible to receive a senior citizen discount on your sticker. 
• You will need to provide proof of vehicle registration and proof of residency.
  Some examples of proof of residency include driver’s license, state ID, lease, mail, etc.
• City Stickers purchased after July 15th of each year are subject to a late fee.
  If you are a new resident or a current resident who has purchased a new or used vehicle (within the last 30 calendar days), you are not subject to a late fee. Please provide your bill of sale or documentation that you recently moved into the City of Chicago when you purchase your sticker.

Some streets in our ward have residential zone parking. This means residents may purchase a Residential Zone Sticker to park within a designated area.

 

For your convenience, you may place an order for a residential sticker at our office and we will be happy to go downtown on your behalf to process the sticker.  We do not sell stickers at our office.  For us to take an order, you must have a current Chicago City Sticker and proof of residency.  Please allow one week for either pick-up or mail delivery.

Residential Zone Sticker Facts

• You must purchase the Chicago City Sticker before you purchase the Residential Zone Sticker.
• The annual cost of a residential sticker is $25.00 however they are prorated.
  • June 1 - November 30: $25.00
  • December 1 - March 31:  $16.50
  • April 1 - May 31: $8.25
• You will need to provide proof of residency and proof of your Chicago City Sticker.
  Some examples of proof of residency include driver’s license, state ID, lease, mail, etc.

The 1st Ward Service Office has a limited supply of daily, 24 hour parking permits or Guest Passes.  Please call our office ahead of your visit to ensure that we have your respective guest pass zone.

Guest Passes Facts

• The cost of one booklet is $8.00.
• A booklet contains 15 guest passes and you are limited to 2 booklets per month.
• Each pass is valid for 24 hours from the date and time you post the sticker.
• Guest passes do have an expiration date.  They are valid for one year from July 1, 2007 to June 30.
• You will need to provide proof of residency.
  Some examples of proof of residency include driver’s license, state ID, lease, mail, etc.
